Wanting a change of scenery, I left the city center where I had been taking photographs for so many years and headed to the western outskirts of Tokyo. Herc I found shuttered shops and business on their last legs- and old, vacant houses. Across the street, uniformly-built, new housing tracts sit deserted, looking like a graveyard. Such is the beautiful wilderness left behind by Japan’s “Lost Decades”. A dead-end view of Tokyo.
