「Daejeon Internationai Photo Festival 2025」ではメインテーマの会場である Daejeon Artist House, Other than Arts Center、10An exhibition is being held at the venue。On the second day of my stay, I was scheduled to speak at artist talk at 3pm.、I used my time to go around the gallery participating in the festival。I couldn't see all the exhibits、Still, I was able to visit six galleries and see the exhibits.。When I looked around the previous Seoul gallery、I have the impression that there were many contemporary art-style photographs.、The theme of this festival “Cities and Humans” That's also true、Most of the works of participating artists were straight photos.。

The first place I visited was a long-established gallery in the heart of the city “Enough gallery“. I found out later、Previously in this gallery、photographer's西村多美子さんも個展を開催されていたそうだ。

IGONG GALLERY から徒歩一分程度の立地の “Daejeon Gallery”. This gallery has a high ceiling and spacious space, similar to a public facility in Daeta city.。

“Colatek” The title is a work based on a dance hall where middle-aged and older people gather in flashy costumes.。It was a glittering and fun exhibition。ⓒ Taedong Kim

繁華街の路地裏に佇む小さなギャラリー、”Cultural Space Jucha”. ピンク色の外観が特徴的です。

「韓国で一番売れない作家」を自称しているという Gangsan Lee氏の作品を展示。低所得者の住居内で撮影されたポートレートは正統的ドキュメンタリースタイル。

ギャラリー内には段差があったり、天井には梁がむき出しになっていたり、作品と空間がマッチしていたと思う。

大通りの交差点の地下にある “Uyeon(Woo Yeon) Gallery” では清里フォトアートミュージアムのヤングポートフォリオ収蔵作家のグループ展が開催。

来韓してオープニングレセプションにも参加されていた児玉和也さんの作品。ⓒ Kodama Kazuya

遅い昼食を摂った後、そのレストランの裏で偶然見つけた “Gallery Hwani“. 韓国の米軍基地周辺をドキュメントした Kyun Hong氏の作品は見ごたえがありましたが、肖像権の問題で内部の撮影は不可でした。

最後に訪れた “Tan Gallery”. 雑居ビルの五階に所在しているので、DEAJEON PHOTOのサインボードがなければ絶対にたどり着けなかったと思う。

ビルの外観からは造像できなかったが、ギャラリー内はとてもキレイで天井も高く広々としている。こちらのギャラリーでは “Domestic Collaborative Exhibition” と題して国立近代美術館の収蔵作品展を開催していました。

ギャラリーのエントランスはカフェスペースになっていて、古いカメラがたくさんディスプレイされている。フェスティバルのWebsiteでは “Tan Gallery” と記載されていたが、看板は “Gallery THAAN” となっている。他にも表記が違うギャラリーがありましたが、アルファベット↔ハングル文字を表記替えする際に齟齬があるのでしょう。（日本語のカタカナ英語でも同現象が多々ありますが）
複数の地図アプリと翻訳アプリを駆使しながら、地下鉄と徒歩でギャラリー訪問したのですが、ハングル文字が読めないので苦労しました。after、ギャラリー名や作家名でネット検索してもほとんど公式ウェブサイトなどの情報が出てこず、これも韓国のお国柄なのかな？とにかくギャラリー探しが大変だった。
