写真展「キジバト / Tokyo Turtle Dove」終了しました。During the exhibition、ご来場頂いた皆様、写真集やオリジナルプリントをお買い上げ頂いた皆様、差し入れ頂いたみなさま、Thank you for。This exhibition、TPPGでは久々の撮り下ろしのポートレート作品で構成しました。18年前にこのギャラリーを立ち上げた当初から、「ariphoto」と題した新宿界隈のポートレート作品を連続展で発表してきましたが、撮り下ろしでの展示は毎回しんどいです…。特に今回は多摩地域でのポートレートということで、都市部とは違い通行人なども極めて少なく、撮影を始めた頃は人探しに苦労した。Nevertheless、「面白いことをやるのではなく、やっていることが面白くなるまでやる」と自身に言い聞かせながら日々撮影を繰り返していると、少ないながらも出会いがあり、その一つ一つが作品へとつながっている実感を持つことができた。また多摩地域は都心部と比べて空が広く、その空を背景にして人物を撮影していると、かつて旅したチベットでの撮影を彷彿させる。カメラもチベットで使用していたRolleiFlexだし、人との出会い方や会話のテンポなどもどこかのんびりしていて、良い意味でリラックスして撮影を続けることができた。今回展示してみて、このシリーズを更に発展させたいという想いが強くなったし、いつか写真集に結実できるように撮影を継続する所存です。 派手なインスタレーションよりも、一点一点の写真とじっくり向き合える、落ち着いた展示空間が好みです。
