42 inches Roll RC Paper

Archival Pigment Print
Photo exhibition "Tokyo Circulation" started yesterday / Tokyo Strut "@ Nihonbashi Takashimaya Art Gallery X has a total of 87 works on display.、Three of them were made with "Archival Pigment Print".。This technique is, in a nutshell, the familiar "inkjet printing".、It seems that what is output using weather resistant pigment ink on fine art paper can be written as "Archival Pigment Print".。The main reason for using this technique this time is、Poor availability of regular photographic paper。At the photo exhibition "Tokyo Debugger" @Zen Foto Gallery held last year, I used 42-inch roll paper of the regular photographic paper "ILFORD MG FBWT".、At that time, there was no stock in Japan、I had the stock in the warehouse of ILFORD in my home country (UK) sent to me.、For convenience of transportation, UK → USA → Japan、It was a rather complicated procedure。Naturally, transportation costs and delivery time will increase.。Also this photographic paper、Poor storage stability at room temperature、Deterioration is fast in the state before use。Especially in hot and humid Japan, it is necessary to refrigerate.、It is also difficult for individuals to secure an environment for refrigerating 42-inch wide products.。 Another positive reason is、It was that there was a scanning system for PHASE ONE XF IQ4 in my acquaintance's lab "Sparking Art Studio".。This system is different from traditional rotary scanners、You can get an image of 150 million pixels in one shot。The nuances of words are difficult、Looking at the data scanned by this system、I like it because it feels more like a photo than a conventional scanner.。 And on print paper、After careful examination, I used Hahnemuhle's "Fine Art Baryta Satin".。Coupled with the PHASE ONE scan data mentioned above、The finish is as convincing as the darkroom prints made with varita photographic paper.。 Basically I like making in the darkroom、I would like to continue to do so、At present, the depletion and soaring of photosensitive materials and chemicals are endless.。Without turning your back on new technologies and methodologies、I would like to actively incorporate it。 Still, the standard is printing in a dark room。Simulate as many times as possible to get closer to it。 Although it is a digital print、I'm still excited when I get the quality I'm satisfied with。 Printing work silently by renting an open classroom on Sunday。I am also grateful for this blessed environment。
